Tai Chi may look gentle and simple from the outside, but every movement is rooted in centuries of knowledge about balance, coordination, energy, and the mind-body connection.

At Jiaren Yoga Studio, we offer both a weekly movement class and a special Tai Chi Theory workshop, giving students the opportunity to experience the practice physically while also understanding the principles behind it.

Weekly Tai Chi & Qigong Class

Join us every Sunday at 10:00 AM for a 60-minute Tai Chi and Qigong class designed for all experience levels.

Through mindful breathing, flowing movements, and traditional exercises, students learn techniques that may help:

  • Increase energy and vitality

  • Improve balance and coordination

  • Develop flexibility and mobility

  • Enhance mental clarity and focus

  • Strengthen joints, ligaments, and tendons

  • Reduce stiffness and everyday discomfort

  • Improve posture and body awareness

Combining traditional Eastern practices with a modern understanding of movement and wellness, this class provides a welcoming environment where students can build strength, confidence, and inner balance.

No previous Tai Chi experience is required.

Special Workshop: Tai Chi Theory—Understanding the “Why” Behind the Practice

Sunday, August 9 at 2:00 PMOne-time event available to Jiaren Yoga Studio members

Have you ever wondered what Qi really means, how Yin and Yang apply to movement, or why Tai Chi can have such powerful physical and mental benefits?

Our Tai Chi Theory workshop is a special, discussion-based session created to complement the weekly movement class. Tony will translate traditional Eastern wisdom into concepts that are easier to understand through anatomy, neuroscience, and Daoist philosophy.

Topics will include:

  • What is Qi, or Chi?

  • How does Tai Chi actually work?

  • What do Yin and Yang mean in everyday practice?

  • How can Tai Chi support balance, mobility, strength, and relaxation?

  • What are the history and Daoist philosophy behind Tai Chi?

  • What are some common myths and misconceptions?

  • How can you approach your practice with greater clarity and purpose?

This is primarily an educational workshop rather than a movement class. Whether you are completely new to Tai Chi or have practiced for years, the session will help you build a stronger foundation and understand the purpose behind each movement.
